The UnWanted Rescue Project

The Unwanted Rescue Project was founded to raise awareness about the problem of national and global pet homelessness and raise money to support animal shelters and rescues. By promoting adoption, neutering and spaying, and increasing awareness, we can ensure the better treatment of animals and reduce the negative impacts of stray dogs and cats.

Of the estimated 70 million stray animals living in the United States, approximately 3.3 million dogs and 3.2 million cats enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Despite growing No-kill advocacy, efforts to return strays to owners, and a growing movement to encourage pet adoption, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized each year. Many shelters and animal welfare groups are largely unknown and underfunded.

These portraits of rescued pets were created in return for a donation to the pet rescue/shelter of the owner's choice. I hope you enjoy them and their stories.
